Because He Loves Me...

Our greatest need is love. If I don’t lay a foundation of love I can never build a house of trust. Do I believe that God will protect me, provide for me and answer my prayers? If I don’t know that God really loves me unconditionally, then I won’t be able to trust Him to take care of me and my needs. Here are a few of the many things in God’s Word that tell me what He has done for me and will do for me just because He loves me.

Because God loves me, He gave the Lord Jesus Christ to die for my sins and be my Savior. He washed me from my sins in His own blood. He delivered my soul from the pit of corruption. He redeemed me and bares me up in His arms and carries me. God made me His child. He saved me and justified me by His grace. He made me an heir of eternal life. He quickened me and makes me to sit in Heavenly Places in Christ Jesus.

Because God loves me He has drawn me to Him with loving kindness. He loves me freely--I don’t have to earn it! God joys over me with singing. He has made His abode with me. He rooted me and grounded me in love and filled me with all the fullness of God. I am God’s friend. I am accepted. I am more than a conqueror.

Because God loves me He casts out fear; His peace shall be with me. He turns curses into blessings. His love constrains me--holds me or keeps me in. He chastens me when I need it. He will show me the exceeding riches of His grace in his kindness toward me through Christ Jesus. His love is everlasting. He gives me everlasting consolation and good hope. Nothing can separate me from His love.

These are just some of God’s many expressions of love to us. Look for others as you read your Bible. God wants us to know that we can trust Him--because He loves us.
